TALON

The Titan Autonomous Lander for Observation and Navigation (T.A.L.O.N.) project is a conceptual spacecraft mission designed to deliver a robotic lander and surface rover to Saturn’s moon Titan for long-duration scientific exploration. Building on the heritage of the Cassini–Huygens and Dragonfly missions, the team is developing a complete mission architecture that includes launch, interplanetary transfer, atmospheric entry, descent and landing, and surface operations in Titan’s harsh cryogenic environment. The project focuses on evaluating spacecraft systems such as power, communications, guidance and navigation, thermal control, and landing technologies to enable reliable autonomous exploration of one of the solar system’s most intriguing worlds.
