Wound Field Synchronous Generator
Problem statement
Synchronous generators are comprised of three major electromagnetic components: laminated iron core, coils of copper wire (windings) and finally a rotor. We recently acquired equipment to produce magnetic cores and windings on campus. Now we need your help to design and make an inexpensive prototype suitable for a lab experiment. Specifically, your team must address the mechanical challenges of designing and manufacturing a prototype synchronous generator. Electromagnetic design will be provided.
