ATV cultipacker design for Cardinal Manufacturing
Problem statement
Cardinal Manufacturing is a student-operated manufacturing company within Eleva-Strum High School. One of the school’s teachers came up with this idea about twelve years ago, and it has grown into an exemplary program revolutionizing manufacturing education [1]. The school cannot fund the program on it’s own and relies on income the facility generates to keep it functioning. Cardinal Manufacturing needs a simple, inexpensive, and effective ATV cultipacker design, because they want to manufacture a marketable product that will not only support the manufacturing facility, but also provide career building experience to their high school students. Many ATV cultipackers exist, but all cost upwards of $500 [2] and have proprietary designs. We intend to design an ATV cultipacker for Cardinal Manufacturing that utilizes multiple manufacturing techniques and costs well below $500, allowing them to make a considerable profit. Ultimately, this will support the facility monetarily and provide unique and challenging experiences for their students.
