Design New OS for Makerspace & TEAM Lab
Problem statement
Currently, the resources provided by the University of Wisconsin Makerspace and TEAMLab are not being used to their full potential. There is no way to determine when a machine will need maintenance or if it is being misused, so time and resources go to waste when machines experience issues. While predictive maintenance is not a perfect solution due to installation cost and misinterpretation of data, implementation of an operating system can improve profitability and reliability in lab spaces. The ultimate goal of this project is to increase the ease of work for lab managers and improve the efficiency of the lab spaces in terms of both time and cost.
