Dynamic Demos

dynamic demos 2024Dynamic’s Class Demonstrations

Problem statement

Every student has been put in the situation where the key concepts of a course seem incomprehensible. No matter the effort put into learning and understanding key concepts, the material remains clear as mud. The frustration at times like these can be overwhelming and may cause students to want to give up. That is why Professor Eric Kazyak, a Dynamics professor, chooses to implement in-lecture demonstrations. Demonstrations are a proven method to improve material comprehension and student interest. These demonstrations not only improve the learning experience for the students, but the increased student comprehension saves the lecturers time and allows them to teach more efficiently. However, Prof. Kazyak’s existing demonstrations are large, cumbersome, lack repeatable results, and all could be improved upon with technology and design upgrades. We intend to provide Prof. Kazyak with new and improved demonstrations that will allow him to demonstrate important Dynamics concepts and improve student learning and interest. Ultimately, we will design demonstrations to look more professional, have more integrated technology, be more user-friendly, and have repeatable demonstration results that allow students to fully comprehend concepts.
