Project Redshift

Project Redshift explores the feasibility of humanity’s first interstellar reconnaissance mission to Proxima Centauri b, the closest known potentially habitable exoplanet. The team is developing the conceptual design of an autonomous spacecraft capable of traveling over four light-years, entering orbit around the distant planet, and conducting long-term scientific observations. The project investigates the challenges of interstellar propulsion, autonomous navigation, deep-space communications, radiation protection, and atmospheric aerobraking, while drawing on lessons from historic missions such as Voyager, New Horizons, and Mars Global Surveyor. Redshift pushes the boundaries of current spacecraft design by examining how future technologies could enable direct exploration of worlds beyond our solar system.
