The Badger Blower
360 Blower Nozzle Control

Problem statement
Competition is what drives innovation. There’s always a need for improved and unique designs to expand upon the current network and products across industries. The race to patent these designs to have the best featured product is extremely important. Currently, a race of our own exists for Bobcat and the need to design a new actuated nozzle system. The current design is infringing on a competitor’s patent and blocking the entire machine from being marketed. The patent number US11304387B2 refers to actuated nozzles that rotate less than 360 degrees[1]. Our team must deliver a noninfringing mechanism within project deadlines that resolves the constraint of the patent without exceeding the allotted budget or sacrificing airflow efficiency. The nozzle system is a vital part of a blower system and designing this both quickly and efficiently will allow the vehicle to be marketed and become a profitable piece of Bobcat’s portfolio. Well designed features are one of the important buying points for many consumers as well. Producing a quality piece will keep customers returning. Delaying this project will result in competitors getting more recognition without Bobcat able to defend its reputation, a loss of revenue to the company and relationship to the customer. The longer the project waits, the more comfortable consumers become with rival brands.———————————————————————————————– [1] K. D. Shumaker, J. C. Stoddard, and S. J.
