Convection Coefficient Measurement Device

Problem statement

Steam ovens have become a significant advancement in how people cook their favorite dishes. In order to provide a better customer experience to those cooking with a Wolf steam oven, humidity is a key technical factor to consider. Right now, Sub-Zero/Wolf does not have an effective way to measure humidity throughout the lifespan of their steam oven. Their alternative solutions to measure humidity do not have high resolution, low cost or small form factor that can last long under the humid and greasy conditions within a steam oven. We intend to give our client feedback on the feasibility of a convection coefficient sensor using their design parameters and discuss potential alternative solutions that can also meet our client’s criteria. Ultimately, our solution will be able to accurately measure the humidity within an active steam oven that is compatible with Wolf’s pre-existing electronics and has an expected lifespan of 20 years.
