Marine Crossflow Turbine
Problem statement
This project will be computational in nature and combine design optimization, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), and finite element analysis (FEA) to model the blade geometry, turbine design (solidity, radius, structural components, etc) of a cross-flow turbine operating in water. No physical prototype will be built, instead a final CAD design will be presented with supporting analysis from FEA & CFD. The Crossflow turbine will be used in a tidal channel and must be reversible.
