Design and Manufacture a Formula Suspension Adjustment Station
Problem statement
All teams that compete in sporting events are constantly looking for ways to have an advantage over their competitors. In Formula SAE competition, it is crucial that our team can change the setup parameters of their vehicle to optimize it in the allotted time between events. The current adjustment station is poorly designed, difficult to use, and lacks the ability to change all of the desired setup components. While there are already numerous cutting edge setup adjustment options available, alignment systems alone such as The DRP Real Square Laser Wheel Alignment System and The True Laser Track System [1], are out of our budget. We intend to provide our client with the ability to quickly and easily assemble a durable station that will facilitate accurate and efficient adjustments to the vehicle in a cost-effective manner. Consequently, our solution will result in reducing the amount of time that it takes the Formula SAE team to change setup parameters as well as enabling the documentation and duplication of the best suspension settings for each competition event.
