Development of 600 Volt Drivetrain System for Electric Formula One Style Race Car
Problem statement
A shift from a 300V drivetrain to a 600V drivetrain would help the FSAE team see marked improvements in efficiency, weight and performance. This is done by the decreased ohmic losses which means that conduction path mass can decrease due to the higher efficiency. A system designed for manufacturability and serviceability would also solve critical issues with the 300V system.
