The Eco-Plane is a conceptual 50-passenger regional aircraft engineered to reduce short-haul aviation carbon emissions by 80%. Operating on 350-mile routes connecting regional airports with short runway requirements (~ 5,000ft), the Eco-Plane bridges the performance gap between conventional regional jets and emerging hybrid-electric concepts. The design uniquely integrates a Blended Wing Body (BWB) airframe to maximize aerodynamic efficiency and accommodate cryogenic liquid hydrogen storage with a zero-direct-emission hydrogen fuel cell propulsion system. By pairing advanced aerodynamics with clean, high-efficiency energy systems, the Eco-Plane presents a commercially viable, forward-looking path toward global aviation decarbonization.
